Prentice A. Christian Jr. is the current Principal of National Christian Academy in Fort Washington, MD. Mr. Christian has been in education for over 30 years and is a proven versatile leader, curriculum consultant, budget analyst, public relations representative, mediator, instructional leader, spiritual leader, coach, mentor, and manager.

 

Mr. Christian received his undergraduate degree from Elizabeth City State University, a Master’s Degree in School Administration from George Mason University and Post Graduate work (Doctoral Program) at Virginia Polytechnic Institute, University of Virginia, and Towson University.

Mr. Christian led educationally strong instructional programs and managed school operations in Fairfax County Public Schools and Prince George’s County Public Schools. He has mentored and trained aspiring administrators, received Certification in Data Wise from Harvard University, and Adjunct Instructor at George Mason University and University of Virginia. Mr. Christian has received many awards and recognitions including Washington Post Distinguished Principal of the Year, Virginia National Distinguished Principal Award, and National Board Certification for Principals. He participated in the Oxford Superintendency and Principalship International Roundtable in Oxford, England, trained and implemented The International Baccalaureate(IB) Middle Years Program in San Diego, CA. and was selected to represent Fairfax County Public Schools in an Education Enrichment Exchange Program with the Japanese Ministry of Education in Tokyo, Japan.

 

Mr. Christian is a member of First Baptist Church of Glenarden in Maryland where he has served as a Sunday School teacher, Life Group Moderator, and member of the Evangelism ministry.

Mr. Christian enjoys biking, spending time with his family, and traveling. He resides in Bowie, Md with his wife, Ruby. They have four children, three daughters and one son, and seven grandchildren.
